Dr. Krauss co-founded KBL Healthcare, Inc. in 1991. She has over 10 years clinical experience as a physician and over 27 years experience in healthcare-focused public and private equity investing. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a specialty in vitreo-retinal surgery. From 1979 to 1986, she completed her clinical training at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, the Harvard Surgical Service at the Deaconess Hospital, the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and New York Hospital. From 1986 to 1989, she was a clinical instructor in Ophthalmology at Cornell Medical College and was engaged in the private practice of ophthalmology.
Dr. Krauss co-founded and was Chairperson and CEO of KBL Healthcare Acquisition Corporation and Vice Chairperson of the Board of Concord Health Group Inc. She also co-founded and was until September 1997 Chairperson of the Board of Cambridge Heart, Inc. In 1999, she co-founded Lumenos, Inc. and serves on its board. She previously served on the Ventures Advisory Committee of the Brigham and Women's Hospital. She is a director of the Associates of Harvard Business School and the recipient of the 1996 Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award. She was the second female MBA graduate to have won this prestigious award, which has been granted since 1968. She is also a founding member of the President's Council of Cornell Women and the Harvard Business School Women's Association.
Dr. Krauss received a BA degree from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences, an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and an MD degree from Harvard Medical School.
