Mr. Harvey L. Tepner is a Principal at WL Ross & Co. LLC. His responsibilities include sourcing and negotiating investments in stressed, distressed and bankrupt companies. Prior to joining the team, he spent more than 20 years specializing in bankruptcies, corporate restructurings, and troubled company mergers and acquisitions as; a Partner at Compass Advisers joined in December 2002 to provide investment banking services in connection with bankruptcies, corporate restructurings, and the acquisition and sale of troubled companies; as the Managing Director at Loeb Partners Corporation, where he founded the Investment Banking & Restructuring Group which subsequently merged with Compass; and specialized in corporate restructurings and troubled company mergers and acquisitions while an Officer in the Corporate Finance departments at Rothschild Inc. and at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. Mr. Tepner worked on numerous engagements including American Healthcare Management, Barney’s New York, Cellular Information Systems, Diamond Brands, Fleming Companies, Frank’s Nursery & Crafts, KMart, LTV Corporation, National Gypsum, Philip Services, Polymer Group, Resorts International, RSL Communications, Texaco, Trans World Airlines, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resorts and U.S. Home Corporation. He was employed at PriceWaterhouse in Toronto. He was a lecturer in Accounting at Cornell University and York University. Mr. Tepner has authored and co-authored several articles on financial reorganization including A Guide for Acquiring Businesses in Bankruptcy, Buy High, Sell Low: Macro Trends and Inferences and Trout Fishing South of the 49th Parallel. He has been a speaker at several bankruptcy and financial symposiums. Mr. Tepner is a Contributing Editor to the ABI Journal.
Mr. Tepner received a B.A. from Carleton University and an M.B.A. from Cornell University.
Mr. Tepner has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Core-Mark Holding Company, Inc. since August 2004. He served as a Director at American Bankruptcy Institute. He served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Pinetree Capital Corp. until May 28, 2003.
