Biography

Chris Risley is an Operating Partner with Bessemer Venture Partners. Risley joins BVP with more than sixteen years of experience in the software industry, following a thirteen-year career with European industrial companies.

Currently, Risley is CEO of Nominum, Inc., a BVP portfolio firm that provides software and services for IP Address Management. He joined Nominum after serving as CEO and Chairman of NewChannel, an e-business service provider, which he managed to a sale to LivePerson (NASDAQ: LPSN), a supplier of text-based chat and messaging services. Before that, he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at BVP, having founded and served as CEO of ON Technology Corp., another BVP-funded firm.

Before his career in the software industry, Risley held a variety of sales, marketing and executive positions within industry. Most notably, he spent many years at BTR Corporation, now Invensys, the sixth largest industrial company in Britain, in charge of M&A activity and institutional investor relations. He also spent two years as Advisor to the Chairman at British Aerospace during its turnaround.

Education

Risley holds a BA Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University and a PMD from Harvard Graduate School of Business.
