Biography

John Raguin is an Executive in Residence at Battery, working alongside the team to evaluate investment opportunities in software and information services companies in the New England area. John has been a leader within software technology companies for the last 20 years, and was among the first 6 employees of 3 successful software companies. Most recently, he co-founded Guidewire Software, a Battery portfolio company, and served as its director, president and CEO.

Prior to Guidewire, John served as vice president and general manager at Ariba, where he oversaw major new product releases and led successful sales to Global 2000 customers. At SupplierMarket, also a Battery portfolio company (acquired by Ariba), he was instrumental in designing, building, and marketing a leading solution for enterprise sourcing. He was responsible for its flagship product MAXIMO at PSDI (now MRO Software, a division of IBM) and its strategic extension into MRO.com, successfully leading its international sales and marketing programs. He also held management positions at Work Technology and Westinghouse.

John has been published in various leading financial services and technology periodicals, such as National Underwriter and PC Week, and has spoken at numerous technology conferences.

Education

He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.
