Biography

Jason Thanh La is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist based in Southern California. He is a Venture Partner at K5 Ventures where he focuses on seed and series A investments in B2B, FinTech, EdTech, PaymentTech, and Internet-related companies. Jason is also an Investment Partner at CrossCut Ventures, a Los Angeles-based venture firm investing in early-stage startups. Some notable investments and exits made by the two venture capital firms include Coin, Flipagram, inDinero, ShoeDazzle, DocStoc, GumGum, and Lettuce.

In addition to his experience as a venture capitalist, Jason has spent more than a decade building his company in the payments industry. He is the co-founder and CEO of Merchant Service Group, LLC, a technology-driven company that provides cutting-edge payment solutions to businesses across the United States. Prior to co-founding Merchant Service Group, LLC, Jason was a consultant at Internet start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He was named in the 2014 OC Register Metro’s “Forty under 40” list of top young executives and entrepreneurs for his entrepreneurial achievements.

Education

Jason La received an MBA from Cornell University and completed a general management program to earn alumni status at Harvard Business School.

Board and Affiliations

Jason serves on the Board of Directors of Harvard Business School Association of Orange County where he leads events such as the annual Harvard Business School Alumni New Venture Competition. He also serves on the advisory board at venture-backed Fin.Solutions.
