Background

Mr. Juan Alberto Franco is Partner at Nexus Group. He joined the firm in January 2009. Mr. Franco is a Chief Financial Officer at NG Management S.A. He has over ten years of investment banking experience in New York and Lima. He was responsible for transaction origination and execution, structuring and executing financings pursued by NG Capital Partners I, L.P. and supervising the finance teams of the portfolio companies, as well as financial reporting, control and investor relations. Prior to joining Nexus Group, Mr. Franco was the Chief Financial Officer of Compañia Minera Atacocha between 2007 and 2008. He served as a Vice President at JPMorgan´s Latin American Investment Banking Group in New York between 2002 and 2007 and he also worked on their Global Energy Group in 2001. Mr. Franco has executed merger and acquisitions, capital raising, and restructuring transactions in excess of $75 billion. Some of the transactions he has participated in include: Endesa´s $56 billion defense strategy and sale, Exelon´s $27 billion proposed merger with PSEG, Peñoles corporate reorganization that led to the IPO of its subsidiary Fresnillo valued at $8 billion, Eletropaulo´s $600 million equity offering, Edenor´s $370 million IPO, among others; as well as Peruvian transactions: Votorantim´s acquisition of Milpo, Relapasa´s IPO, Backus stock buy-back cash tender, Peru Rail´s acquisition of ENAFER assets, ABEEFE´s sale to Bristol Myers, Tele 2000 sale to Bell South, among others.

Mr. Franco holds an M.B.A. degree from Cornell University and a B.A. degree in Economics from the Catholic University (Universidad Catolica - Lima, Peru).
