Background

Mr. Jay Chong serves as a Senior Director at Samsung Venture Investment Corporation. Mr. Chong joined Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, the investment arm of Samsung Group, in 2010 after spending 10 years at Intel in various marketing and business development roles. He launched successful mobility products such as the second generation Centrino, Pentium M, and Pentium 4-M and also managed APAC notebook account and led the Intel corporate strategy of incubating local notebook OEMs and ODMs. He built a business development team from scratch and provided marketing, engineering, and business consulting to help the local PC OEMs and ODMs grow their competencies. Prior to Intel, he lead a sales team at International Rectifier in Korea, developing new businesses in telecommunication, consumer electronics, and automotive. At Samsung Ventures he has invested in SeaMicro (acquired by AMD), Tilera and Plextronics in addition to NextIO. He serves as a Director of NextIO, Inc.

Education

Mr. Chong received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell.
