Background

Mr. Herbert Magid is a Managing Partner at EIF Management, LLC. Mr. Magid was one of the original founders of the firm in 1987 and, for the past 25 years, has been part of the senior management team. He is responsible for the financial, asset management, and administrative teams. Mr. Magid has over 33 years of experience in the financing, development, and operations of power assets in the energy industry. He is also responsible for the overall investment, asset management, strategic planning, and operations of EIF and the funds it manages. From 1987 until 1996, Mr. Magid was an Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at EIF. From 1983 to 1987, he was a senior investment officer at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company and was a member of the team responsible for John Hancock's $4 billion utility and energy portfolio, including investments in the independent power industry. Mr. Magid has been responsible for managing over $1 billion in direct debt and equity investments in independent power projects throughout the world with total capital costs in excess of $3 billion. From 1979 until joining John Hancock in 1983, he was a licensed Engineer for the construction of electric power plants with United Engineers and Constructors.
